There are 28 types of StarShips in Solar Vengeance, but before you play you must choose 6 of the 28 that you will be able to build and use during the game. Learn the StarShip properties that follow and choose carefully. Click the "Star Lord Profile" button to select your StarShips. During play, you can gain the ability to build more types of StarShips in 2 ways:
Engines A StarShip's Engine rating (the number next to the "E") determines how frequently the StarShip can act during the game. This applies not only to movement, but also to attacking and performing other operations. Therefore, a WarShip with 18 Engines will be able to move twice as quickly as one with 9 Engines, but also attack twice as many times during the same period. The maximum Engine rating a StarShip can possess is 20. Primary System Many StarShips have an additional System, besides Engines. For example, WarShips have Weapons and ScanShips have Scanners. This value is displayed to the lower left of the StarShip unit on the map. Building Cost As you increase Engine and Weapons ratings, the cost of building the StarShip goes up at an increasingly high rate. If you need a WarShip with 10 Weapons to conquer a StarSystem, it is actually less expensive to build 2 WarShips with 5 Weapons. Consider this as you build your fleet. Cloaking Any StarShip can be cloaked, doubling its cost to build. Cloaked StarShips are not visible to Scanners, and are only visible to the enemy when they are adjacent to one of their StarShips or StarSystems. Damage As StarShips are attacked, they may become damaged. You will see damage expressed as yellow and red Engine and Primary System ratings displayed on the map unit. Damage can be repaired by RepairShips and BattleStations. |
